Has anyone ever named anything after a NES character? I can't believe I'm about to say this but when I was little (I was born in 1980)I was 4 or 5 when the movie came out and I had one of those plastic horses you know with the springs on them you could jump on them and rock back and forth, I don't think they make them anymore they said they were dangerous, well I named mine after Atreyu's horse Artex.

lol, can't say I've named any physical thing I own after an NeS character, no...but lately the only screen names and such I've been using online have been Atreyu179. Since Atreyu's so popular, all the names are taken, so I use the month and year I was born in to make myself 'more unique' I guess. So I guess that's how I live out my obsession. <:P

Well 'Bastian' is high on my list of names to inflict upon my future children! Of course I also want to call them after Tony and Tia, Neri, and whoever my current favorite anime chaaracter is!

I know this is off-topic, but I sometimes play those WORMS-games and I name teams: G. Guys, Bad Guys, and Friends. Those good guys I named: Bastian, Moon Child, Atreyu, and Falkor. I named the bad guys: The Nothing, Gmork, Emptyness, and Xayida. Finally the Friends: Engywook, Urgl, Morla, and ERM, I forgot the last guy.

I blush at the memory, but when I was six or seven I would ride my bike through the town in which I lived in (the town is called Temagami, it's buried in the heart of Northren Ontario) and as I would ride I would imagine that I was riding Artax through Fantasia.
Also, I would love to name my child Bastian (should I ever have children!!!!!!!)

I have made a Monopoly board for the Never Ending Story, so I guess I used a whole load of names for that one. All the places are different, the 'Mayfair' one is The Ivory Tower and the cheap ones are the Swamps of Sadness and Shell Mountain. It's not quite finished yet to tell the truth but it's going to be so fun when it is. I'd like to talk to more Never Ending Story fans like me so post away!

I am definately going to name my first boy Bastian if I ever have kids! I think it's a nice name, and has so much character.

Wow, this is an old topic. Anyway I had only one thing named after a TNES character and that was a dog stuffed toy that the younger sister of one of my close friends gave to me as a Valentine's Day present. She's so sweet
It's a small pink dog with long fluffy white ears and even if its body didn't strech long, it so looked like Falkor so I named it Falkor
It was the time when I was a bit preoccupied with anything connected to TNES and so I even named a stuffed toy after a TNES character which I don't usually do. I'm not really a "stuffed toy" crazed person but I didn't want to give away presents of people who mean so much to me even if it was a stuffed toy and so I decided to keep it and it is now displayed on my "work" table.

I wanted to call my cat Atreyu or Gandalf, but Mum refused to shout them names out the window when calling him in for dinner......So we called him Nobby instead

I was the lead singer of a band which we called ATREYU. Admittedly, I came up with the name and when I told the other guys in the band what the name meant and where I got it from, they laughed... but I soon talked them into it!!! I thought the name was perfect. According to the Greenskins, the name means "Son Of All" and our band made "music for all". I also liked the idea of having a band named after a character in a book and a movie, like the band Veruca Salt which is a character from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!
